Mayfords Chartered Surveyors are able to offer a most thorough service in the planning stages of a property build and / or extension. Having in place clear and well constructed plans and drawings are key to any project.
From new builds to refurbishments, extensions and conversions, our service offering and expertise is such that we will be able to make all the difference. We’ll consult with you to create detailed plans and drawings as such that will be able to bring your visions and ideas to life, and meet both your needs and the current regulations.
The design process usually starts with a concept design. We will need to know the size of your space, including any specific design ideas you may have. We will then create colour illustrations to demonstrate our proposed solution, so you can see how the finished result might look. This in turn will help to allow you to make radical changes before any of the technical work is started.
Once the concept design has been finalised, we will then go over this with with technical drawings. This helps to make the concept design a reality, taking into account building regulations, the results of your site analysis and your structural design. This may also include CAD (Computer Aided Design), isometric and axonometric drawing, and plans and elevations – everything you can think of will be covered to enable you to set about proceeding with your build.
If we’re assigned to come up with designs for an existing property, we will need accurate information about the current building. While building plans are useful, a measured survey is usually best way to give us the info we need, as this will help us to identify any possible deviations from the plan. The more detailed the survey is, the more accurate the architectural design will be. It must be accounted for though that detailed surveys take longer and cost more, so we’ll find the right balance for your budget.
